St. Tom’s is committed to the serious study of scripture because we know that “ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ.” That is why every year during Advent and Lent, Saint Tom’s offers a seasonal scripture study with a trained instructor to help you deepen your knowledge of Christ through his word.
James is the Director of Evangelization & Adult Formation for the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center at Purdue. James has served as a pastor in several churches over the last 10 years and is passionate about formation through serious scripture studies. He has both a Bachelor’s degree and a Masters degree in theology and is currently working on a Masters degree in Philosophy. James loves to study scripture through the eyes of the Catholic tradition and he specializes in Biblical interpretation and the many ways different groups and traditions approach scripture.
Alice is the former director of adult religious education for the Archdiocese of Louisville, KY. She graduated from Purdue University and earned a master's degree in theological studies from St. Meinrad School of Theology and an educational specialist degree in educational administration from Spalding University. She is the founding principal of St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Huntsville, Ala., and was the executive director of the Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools. In 2006, she was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from Central Catholic. Alice has been teaching the Scriptures for over 45 years and loves using scripture studies to deepen people's faith and love of God.
