Planned Giving

One of the simplest ways you can support St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center at Purdue University and leave a legacy at your faith community is to provide for St. Tom's in your will. You can also name St. Tom's as a beneficiary or contingent beneficiary on your IRA, retirement plan, life insurance policy, or annuity. While it is not required to notify us of your plans, sharing with us your intentions allows us to share our gratitude with you. We are so grateful for your support and generosity.

Often, giving through one of these avenues can have substantial tax benefits for you. Please review your choices with your financial advisor to see if one of these giving options is right for you.

This type of gift is permanent and invested, with a portion of the gift being used to support immediate needs and the remaining funds being used in the future. The funds from this gift have the potential to increase over time.

At this time, in order to set up an Endowment for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center at Purdue University, we coordinate these planned giving opportunities through the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana with the Lafayette Diocesan Foundation, Inc. (LDFI). To create a new endowment fund, generally gifts must be a minimum of $25,000 to establish the fund. The purpose must be approved by the pastor, followed by diocesan approval, prior to the creation of the endowment fund. Please consult the Development Office for additional information on endowment funds if this giving opportunity is of interest to you.

In general, any gifts that are not cash or easily converted to cash must be approved by the pastor and adhere to the policies in the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center at Purdue University gift acceptance policy, and the diocesan gift acceptance policy.
