The Outdoor Catholics Club (OutCats) at St. Tom's is a vibrant student ministry that fosters personal growth and community through a love of the outdoors.
Our weekly events, ranging from hikes and bonfires to outdoor service projects and skills courses, offer students a unique opportunity to connect with nature, build lasting friendships, and deepen their spiritual lives. We are proud to serve and steward three local forest preserves, where our members actively participate in preserving and enhancing these natural spaces for the community.
Our tight-knit officers are not only passionate about the outdoors and their faith, but they are also highly trained to ensure the safety and success of every event. Each officer undergoes rigorous training in essential outdoor skills such as risk management, navigation, basic first aid, and wilderness survival. This training equips them to lead confidently, handle emergencies, and navigate the challenges of outdoor ministry. Whether guiding a hike through the forest or organizing a bonfire under the stars, our officers are committed to providing a safe, enriching experience for all members, fostering an environment where faith and adventure go hand in hand. Join us as we grow in faith and character, surrounded by the beauty of God's creation.
