On Monday, the International Peace Light comes to St. Tom’s. Bring a lantern or candle to light to the church for the ceremony at 8:00 p.m. and share the light with your friends, family, and community.

Then on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Church, we will welcome our distinguished guest speaker Fr. Timothy Radcliffe, OP. Former global master of the Dominican order and a spiritual director of the Global Synod for Pope Francis. Fr. Timothy will share insights from his newest book titled “Questioning God.”

Finally, a thank you to all who participated in honoring our loved ones during St. Tom’s November Remembrance. The Ofrenda altar has been taken down, and several remaining photos of loved ones from the altar can be picked up in the Parish Office.
And a very gracious “Thank You” to all who participated in St. Tom’s Giving Tuesday. Through your generosity, we have reached half of the funding needed to make our Downstairs Lounge Project a reality. Ninety-four donors contributed $75,918 towards our $150,000 goal.

World-renowned Catholic intellectual and writer, Dominican Fr. Timothy Radcliffe, former Master of the Order of Preachers, will be here at St. Tom’s for a lecture on “Questioning God?” on December 7 at 7 pm. Admission is free. At the request of Pope Francis, Fr. Radcliffe recently directed the three-day retreat for delegates attending the Synod on Synodality recently held in Rome.

Our annual all-parish Thanksgiving Dinner takes place this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. downstairs in Newman Hall. Leave the cooking to St. Tom’s staff, clergy, and Pastoral Council members, and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner in the company of your fellow parishioners.
Our annual Advent Wreath Workshop takes place Sunday, December 3rd at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $20 each, and the deadline to register is Monday, November 27th.
Also, Sr. Joseph Andrew, OP, will be with us next Monday, November 27th to lead our annual advent evening of reflection. Enter the Advent season in prayer and fellowship with St. Tom’s community by attending this event, beginning with Mass at 5:30 p.m., followed by a simple supper in Newman Hall, reflections, and small group discussion.
With the Thanksgiving Holiday, there are some schedule changes this week:
There will be no Adoration after Monday.
Owing to a priests’ meeting in Tipton, there will be no confessions at 11am and not Mass at
11:30am on Monday. However, there will be Mass on Monday at 5:30pm.
Evening Mass and evening Confessions will not take place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Religious Education is at home this weekend, and there is no class next Sunday, November 26th
Also, the Parish Office will be closed this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Finally, Jubilee Christmas is slated for Saturday, December 9. Many volunteers are needed to help with preparations, and the day of the event will support 25 families and 68 children. Come and learn more about ancient Israel's prophets as presented by Alice Hession. The six “Introduction to the Prophets” sessions begin at 7 pm this Monday evening.
Theology on Tap is Open Mic Night this Tuesday evening at 7 pm at Harry’s Chocolate Shop. Attendees are invited to share what the Eucharist means to them with the whole group or at their table. Everyone 21 and older is welcome.
A reminder that our All Saints/All Souls/Dia de los Muertos altar will remain up throughout November and that nine Masses will be offered for our departed friends and family. Names can still be submitted using the envelopes by the submission box. Donations are not required but can be submitted by cash and check using the envelopes available or online through Faith Direct by scanning the QR code on the submission box.

On Saturday, November 18th, at 9 am, we will break bread as a community during an All-Parish breakfast that will include a viewing of three brief videos followed by a table conversation about the Eucharist in our Catholic faith. All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation, is THIS Wednesday. Come celebrate the heroes of our faith with Vigil Mass on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and Feast Day Masses at 11:30 a.m. and 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Please note that incense will be used at all Masses, and on Wednesday, there will be NO Adoration, and the Parish Office is closed.
All SOULS Day is on Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Mass will be the first of nine Masses offered in honor of our departed loved ones in November. You may submit names on the envelopes available in the pews or by the submission box to the right of the altar. Also, all are encouraged to place photos of their departed loved ones on the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altar/ofrenda near the submission box.

As part of a fundraiser for their annual retreat, the IndoCats will be taking orders for their authentic (and delicious) nasi uduk (Nuh-See Oo-Dook) meal after Mass today in the Gather Space. Orders will be available for pick-up from St. Tom’s kitchen next Saturday at noon.
The Boiler Awakening Student Retreat is next weekend. Please keep the retreatants and student staff members (about 150 in total) in your prayers. Also, donations of baked goods (homemade or purchased), fresh fruit, nuts, and granola bars would be much appreciated. They can be brought to the Parish Office by Friday at 5:00 p.m.Next Sunday, a hearty pancake breakfast will be served by the Knights of Columbus downstairs instead of our usual coffee and donuts. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family.
Also, the Knights will host its Second Annual Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Nov. 4, to raise funds for Food Finders Food Bank. The Knights are seeking chefs to compete for the coveted Chili Spoon awards, and posters with sign-up information are in the Gather Space. All are welcome to enter the competition, and there is no entry fee.

With the ensuing violence in the Holy Land and in other corners of our world, Bishop Timothy Doherty asks -- and at the request of the Vatican--that all members of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana hold a day of fasting, abstinence, and organized prayer this Tuesday. Please join St. Tom's and the global Catholic community in prayer and at Adoration on Tuesday from the hours of noon to 5:00 p.m. and for the Rosary after 5:30 p.m. Mass.
A reminder that World Mission Sunday is next Sunday. A second collection will take place at all Weekend Masses for this unique, global effort by the Church to provide for the building up of over one thousand local churches in Asia and Africa, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe. Through the work of these churches and their witness to Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience God's love and mercy, His hope and peace. Please prayerfully consider a donation to this cause.

Due to a Diocese-wide All Priests Retreat, there will be only one opportunity for Confession and Daily Mass from Monday to Friday this week. On Monday, Confession will be offered at 11:00 a.m. and Daily Mass at 11:30 a.m. A Communion Service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to Friday. Normal Adoration hours WILL take place. The regular schedule for Mass and Confession resumes on Saturday.
