What is Dining Disciples? Dining Disciples is an opportunity on a monthly basis to gather in homes to share a meal and discuss a topic of faith.
· The group is limited to approximately 15 people.
· Married, singles, and dating adults are all welcome.
· It is understood that there will be conflicts in schedules, and everyone may not be able to join every gathering.
What is a ‘topic of faith?’
The topic could be a saint (St. Thomas Aquinas), a sacred apparition or miracle (Our Lady of Guadalupe), a current topic (Eucharistic Revival), a passage or phrase from the bible, or any other topic of faith.
The host for the month will choose the Topic of Faith. They may send out pre-reading for the evening. They may show slides or pictures of a place. They will prepare an opening prayer, discussion questions, and closing prayer.
· The host will also select a cuisine for the evening, often tied to the topic. For example, if the topic was Our Lady of Guadalupe – Mexican cuisine would be a logical choice. The host will share what they are preparing (normally the main course), and the other dining disciples will bring an appetizer, salad, vegetable, or dessert to share.
We will be forming at least one Dining Disciples group. Our first gathering will be Friday, Aug. 11, at 6:00 p.m. at Dcn Dan and Georgana Finn’s home. If you would like to join Dining Disciples, email Dcn. Dan at [email protected]. We hope you will join us for food, fellowship, and faith discussion.
