"My Story of Redemptive Suffering For Victims of Priest Abuse" is the topic for this month's Theology on Tap talk given by Fr. John Hollowell from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Fr. John will share his story of suffering and healing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Harry's Chocolate Shop. Those 21 and older are welcome!
In Catholicism, redemptive suffering occurs when someone unites their suffering with Christ's Passion. This can be done for oneself or others and can help with the salvation of souls or to atone for sin. Fr. John will share his personal experience of offering up his suffering from a brain tumor for victims of clergy sexual abuse and his encounter with the miraculous healing waters of Lourdes, a famous pilgrimage site in France.
