The new liturgical year, which begins the first Sunday of Advent, is known as the Year of Luke because most of our Sunday readings are drawn from Luke’s Gospel. Luke emphasizes that Jesus came for all human beings who are sinners and in need of salvation. Jesus was, for Luke, the prime example of what the power of God can do in a human life. To prepare for the upcoming liturgical year, parishioner Alice Hession will lead four sessions on Luke’s Gospel, Thursday evenings, Nov. 4, 11, 18, and Dec. 2. The sessions take place in Room 3 and will begin at 7:00 p.m. To register, please email John Strong, john@boilercatholics.org.
