This Lent is a special time to explore the Gospel of John. The Gospel seems deceptively simple and straightforward, but as we read and study the text, it becomes more obvious that there is much faith underlying the language and the history of the times in which it was written. John’s description of Jesus is a majestic, serene person, totally in control of his destiny at all times. The mystery of the Incarnation dominates the whole of John’s Gospel, the Word made Flesh, named in the Prologue with which the Gospel opens. During this Lenten season, explore how John sees Christ’s glory working here and now in each individual soul and eternal life present in those who have faith. The sessions of the Gospel of John take place during Lent for five consecutive Mondays beginning Monday, March 13 and ending Monday, April 10. Led by Alice Hession, sessions take place in the Sienca Rooms (downstairs) from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m.To register, please email John Strong, director of evangelization.
