Dining Disciples is an opportunity to gather monthly in homes to share a meal and discuss a topic of faith. · We try to limit each evening to about 10 - 12 people to facilitate active discussion and participation. · Married, single, and dating adults are all welcome.
The Host of the evening chooses the Topic and leads the discussion. What could the topics be? They could be a saint, a passage in the Bible, a faith-based question, a faith-based topic in the news, or a place—in other words, anything that relates to our faith. It could be something the hosts have wanted to discuss or a place they have visited.
The topic of the evening informs the theme of the dinner (e.g., Our Lady of Guadalupe – Mexican, Angels - angel type dishes – angel food cake, bread with an angel design, angel hair pasta). The host typically provides the main course. Disciples bring a dish to share that is aligned with the theme (appetizer, salad, side dish, dessert, drink).
If your home or apartment is too small to host a group, other members are willing to have the evening at their home, and you function as host.
A typical Dining Disciples evening starts at 6:00 pm and ends around 8:00 – 8:30 pm and includes:
Appetizers and cocktails
Dinner
Discussion of the topic for the evening
Dessert
Evening Prayer

Dining Disciples is a wonderful way to make friends, develop yourself as a disciple, and make a difference in your life and the world.
It is an opportunity to socialize with fellow Catholics and expand your group of friends.
You will have a chance to explore topics related to your faith, and those others would like to explore. In Acts 2 we hear “They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and the prayers… They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people.”
Dining Disciples celebrate together and mourn together. Dining Disciples learn together.
